KUTZTOWN, Pa. – For the second straight week
Brandon Brader (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) rushed for over 100 yards, but it wasn't enough as the Lock Haven University football team (0-2) fell 49-6 on the road at No. 16 Kutztown University (3-0).
Kutztown's explosive offense posted 14 points in each of the first three quarters and Golden Bear quarterback Kevin Morton threw a touchdown pass for the 20th straight game.
Morton was an impressive 22-for-29, passing for 280 yards and three touchdowns.
The Bald Eagles trailed 14-0, but with one second left in the first quarter,
Noah Heimer (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) put LHU on the board with one of his two field goals on the night.
Heimer's 22-yard field goal with just one second left in the first quarter capped off a 16-play, 69 yard drive that used 8:10 off the clock.
Heimer hit a 36-yard field goal with 6:55 left in the half to make it 21-6 Kutztown.
Lock Haven trailed 28-6 at halftime.
Brader rushed for 109 yards on 23 carries.
Devin Sims (Waynesboro, Pa./Waynesboro) made three catches for 68 yards.
Ibrahim Smith (New Bloomfield, Pa./West Perry) made a game-high seven tackles, including five solo stops for LHU.
Raymond Mosby (Easton, Pa./Wilson) had another strong game for the Bald Eagles and recorded six tackles.
Quarterback
Jarryd Burkett (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) was 11-for-22 for 156 yards.
The Bald Eagles return home next weekend (Saturday, September 24) at 3 p.m. to host No. 25 Mercyhurst in the PSAC West opener for both teams.
