ERIE, Pa. – The Lock Haven University volleyball team picked up a 3-1 (25-23, 23-25, 25-21 & 25-23) win over host Mercyhurst College today on the road.

Lock Haven was led by the trio of Bailey Farthing (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Coffman), Gao Xuan (Dong Ying, China/Zibo No. 10 Middle School) and Grace Novacek (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) as the three combined for 42 kills

Farthing hit .364 with a team-high 18 kills. She added three aces.

Xuan hit .500 with 16 kills. She added two solo blocks.

Novacek added eight kills, while hitting .470 with three block assists.

Erin Walsh (Bethlehem, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic) and Monica Brown (Omaha, Neb./Iowa Western C.C.) led LHU on defense. Walsh had 24 digs and Brown added 10.

The Lady Eagles are now 4-6 overall and 1-2 in PSAC action.

Lock Haven travels to East Stroudsburg University on Tuesday, September 20 for a 7 p.m. match.
