Lady Eagles fall to local-rival Bucknell 2-1 in OT

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. –
The Lock Haven University field hockey team (3-5) fell to local-rival Bucknell (2-4) 2-1 today after the Bison scored the game-winner just 45 seconds into overtime of the non-conference match.

LHU took a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute after Leslie Ahern (Getzville, N.Y./Williamsville North) weaved through the defense and beat the Bucknell goalie low and to the far post.

With less than 10 minutes to play in the match, Bucknell found the tying goal.

Regulation ended with the two teams knotted at 1-1.

Just 45 seconds into overtime, Ellie Riegel beat Haven goalie Lindsay Staufenberg (Norristown, Pa./Norristown) for the game-winner.

Staufenberg made one save for Lock Haven.

Lock Haven hosts Saint Francis (Pa.) on Wednesday, September 21 at 6 p.m.
