LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University field hockey team (5-5) defeated visiting Georgetown University (2-6) 3-1 today pm Charlotte E. Smith Field thanks to a speedy attack that converted two goals in the second half.
 
Senior Kristi Shepps (Willow Street, Pa./Penn Manor) lead the Lady Eagles with two goals on the day.
 
Shepps connected for her first goal off of a penalty corner pass from sophomore Kelly Harsh (Lancaster, Pa./Penn Manor) in the 35^th minute.
 
The game was tied 1-1 at halftime.
 
Harsh once again set up the Lady Eagle offense to begin the second half as she assisted junior Nicole Weaknecht (Kutztown, Pa./Kutztown) for the go-ahead goal.
 
Weaknecht's goal proved to be the game winner as the Lady Eagle's speed overwhelmed Georgetown all day.
 
Shepp's added her second goal of the game in the 62^nd minute off of a pass from Senior Leslie Ahern (Getzville, N.Y./Williamsville North).
 
The Lady Eagles are back in action tomorrow, when they face Rider University at 1 p.m. at Charlotte E. Smith Field.
