Lady Eagles lose tough game to Rider 3-2

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. 
– The Lock Haven University Field Hockey team (5-6) fell to Rider University (7-1) 3-2 today in a non-conference match at Charlotte E. Smith Field.
 
Seniors Leslie Ahern (Getzville, N.Y./Williamsville North) and Najia Hasan (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Wyoming Seminary) scored the two goals for the Lady Eagles.
 
Kelly Harsh (Lancaster, Pa./Penn Manor) assisted on both of The Haven's goals.
 
Ahern's goal came in the 12th minute when she grabbed a rebound off of a shot by Harsh and found the back of the net.
 
Hasan added her goal in the 27th minute off of a penalty corner pass by Harsh.
 
Trailing 3-2 at halftime, the Lady Eagles played tremendous defense, but were unable get the equalizing goal.
 
Sophomore goal keeper Kelsey Moll (Newmanstown, Pa./Elco) recorded six saves after entering the game at halftime.
 
The Lady Eagles will be back in action Wednesday, September 28, when they travel to Saint Francis University for a 6 p.m. start.
