OAKDALE, N.Y. – The Lock Haven University volleyball team went 2-0 today at the Dowling College Tournament and the Lady Eagles remained unbeaten in 2011.

LHU took down Bentley 3-0 (25-13, 25-15 & 25-12) and beat host-Dowling 3-2 (25-20, 25-19, 20-25, 24-26 & 15-8) to improve to 3-0 on the year.

Gao Xuan (Dong Ying, China/Zibo No. 10 Middle School) combined for 33 kills in the two matches.

Gao Xuan (Dong Ying, China/Zibo No. 10 Middle School) led LHU vs. Bentley has she hit a sizzling .687 with 11 kills. She also added three aces.

Bailey Farthing (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Coffman) was solid and added 11 kills, while hitting .500.

Alexa Garrity (Boothwyn, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) had 28 assists in the win over Bentley.

Xuan was at it again in the five-set win over host-Dowling. She had 21 kills.

Grace Novacek (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) added 12 kills in the thrilling win.

Erin Walsh (Bethlehem, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic) was tremendous at the line and served up five aces.
 
The Lady Eagles are back in action next weekend (Friday & Saturday, September 9-10) when they make the trip west to Colorado for the Colorado Premier Challenge, hosted by Metro State and Regis University.
