LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's basketball team (0-15, 0-12 PSAC) got a career-high 24 points from
Terrell Johnson (Philadelphia/Imhotep Charter), but it wasn't enough as visiting California (Pa.) University (10-8, 7-5 PSAC) came from behind to win 68-51.
Johnson was 7-for-17 from the field and knocked down 8-of-12 from the free-throw line. He also added a pair of three's on the way to his career afternoon. Johnson also had two steals and two assists.
The Bald Eagles took the lead midway through the first half and led by as many as six in the final nine minutes of the first. Ultimately it was the Bald Eagles up three, 29-26 at the half.
Johnson scored nine of his 24 in the first 20 minutes and
Lucas Mosca (Baltimore/Towson) scored all eight of his points in the first half. Mosca hit a pair of first-half three's to help LHU to the halftime lead.
Lock Haven led by eight early in the second, but Cal quickly chipped away at the Bald Eagles lead. With just six minutes left, LHU only trailed by five, but LHU couldn't get any closer down the stretch.
Andre Rivers (Philadelphia/Girard College) netted eight points and
Armandi Marshall (Philadelphia/Olney) added five.
Marshall led LHU with seven rebounds.
Nate Walters (Reedsville, Pa./Indian Valley) and Rivers both had five boards for The Haven.
California was led by three players in double figures scoring, including Chad Tipton, who had a team-high 19 points. Steve Swiech added 11 points and a game-high eight rebounds.
Lock Haven returns to action on Wednesday, January 25 at 7:30 p.m. at No. 10 Indiana (Pa.) University.
