Lady Eagles down Kutztown at home 76-66

LHU snaps five game losing skid with win

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. –
The Lock Haven University women's basketball team (5-6, 4-4 PSAC) defeated Kutztown University (4-10, 2-6 PSAC) 76-66 tonight in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) crossover action.
 
With the win the Lady Eagles snapped a five game losing skid.
 
LHU had three players in double figures in scoring, led by Peaches Nesmith (Philadelphia/Northeast) who scored 16 points.  She also grabbed seven rebounds and recorded three assists and three steals.
 
Sharay Hall (Philadelphia/Carver) scored 14 points, grabbed eight rebounds, dished out four assists and also tallied three steals.
 
Samantha Lane (Montoursville, Pa./Loyalsock) scored a career-high 14 points as she was solid for LHU on both ends of the floor.
 
Heather McHugh (Norristown, Pa./Norristown) netted nine points, pulled down six rebounds and dished out a team-high five assists.
 
Kelsey Ryan (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy) scored eight points and grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds.
 
Kacie Hershey (Cochranville, Pa./Octorara) blocked a career-high three shots in the win.  She also scored seven points and grabbed six rebounds.
 
The Lady Eagles won the game on the boards as they pulled down a season-high 50 rebounds.
 
Kutztown was led by Ashley Wood who scored 18 points and Steph Zewe who scored 13 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.
 
The Lady Eagles are back in action Wednesday (January 11) when they travel to Slippery Rock.  Tipoff is set for 6 .p.m.
