Box Score LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University field hockey team (9-5, 0-1 A-10) was edged by visiting La Salle 1-0 in the Atlantic 10 Conference opener for both teams today.

La Salle (6-7, 1-0 A-10) scored the only goal of the match in the 56th minute of play. Colleen Kempf knocked home a loose ball from in front of the cage after a goal-mouth scramble.

Lock Haven goalie Elaina White (Etters, Pa./Red Lion) kept LHU in the game and finished with seven saves.

Emily Woods (Williamsville, N.Y./Williamsville North) did all she could to spark the Lady Eagle offense, but she couldn't find the back of the goal on either of her two shots.

LHU returns to action on Friday, October 12 at Saint Joseph's University (3 p.m.).
