Box Score LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University volleyball team (25-9) swept Millersville University (14-18) 3-0 (25-22, 25-18 & 25-16) tonight in a PSAC Quarterfinal match at Thomas Fieldhouse.
Lock Haven was led by senior outside hitter
Gao Xuan (Dong Ying, China/Zibo No. 10 Middle School), who put on one of the greatest performances in school history tonight, as she powered the Lady Eagles into the conference semi-finals.
Xuan tallied a match-high 18 kills and posted a .552 hitting percentage. She also recorded a match-high eight aces and added 10 digs and two blocks.
Erin Walsh (Bethlehem, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic) etched her name into the LHU record books early in the second set when she broke Lock Haven's career digs record. Walsh finished the night with 12 digs, giving her 1,724 for her career, breaking Li YiZhi's old record of 1,717.
LHU opened up the match with a close 25-22 win in set one.
The Haven kept the momentum rolling and opened up a 10-3 led to begin set two. Millersville would respond however, and go on a 7-0 run to tie the second set at 10-10.
Trailing 15-12, the Lady Eagles turned to Xuan and the senior sparked The Haven to a 13-3 run to win the set 25-18.
Xuan had a sensational second set, as she tallied 10 kills on just 12 attempts in the frame. She posted a remarkable .833 hitting percentage in the set.
With all of the momentum in its favor, LHU jumped out to a 9-3 third set lead and never looked back. LHU led 21-15 when Xuan unleashed back-to-back aces to give The Haven a commanding 23-15 lead.
Two points later, senior
Monica Brown (Omaha, Neb./Iowa Western Community College) served another ace to close out the third set 25-16 and send The Haven into the conference semi-finals.

Alexa Garrity (Boothwyn, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) dished out 37 assists on the night.

Grace Novacek (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) and junior
Bailey Farthing (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Coffman) added six and five kills, respectively.
Novacek led The Haven with three blocks in the match.
With the win, LHU pushed its win streak to 13 matches.
The Lady Eagles will be back in action this Friday, November 16, when they travel to Gannon University for the PSAC semifinals. LHU will face California (Pa.) in the semi-final match, with the winner to play for the PSAC Championship on Saturday (November 17).
