Women’s Basketball drops PSAC opener to Millersville, 72-49

Kelsey Ryan nets 10 points & Marrysa Moyer grabs nine boards, but Haven falls in PSAC opener

Box Score LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Kelsey Ryan (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy) scored 10 points and Marrysa Moyer (Altoona, Pa./Mansfield Univ.) grabbed nine rebounds, but it wasn't enough as the Lock Haven University women's basketball team dropped its 2012-13 PSAC opener to visiting Millersville University, 72-49.

Lock Haven (2-2, 0-1 PSAC) trailed 34-23 at halftime as the Marauders (3-0, 1-0 PSAC) shot 37.5 percent from the field and 40.7 percent from three-point range.

Ryan was 4-of-9 shooting on the way to her 10-point outing. She also grabbed five defensive rebounds and dished out two assists.

J.J. Hilliard (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) and Hannah Gildea (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) both netted eight points for Lock Haven in the loss.

Hilliard and Gildea added six and four rebounds, respectively.

Kacie Hersey (Cochranville, Pa./Octorara) and Emily Daugherty (Laughlintown, Pa./Ligonier) chipped in, scoring six points apiece.

Moyer led Lock Haven on the glass with a game-high nine rebounds.

Millersville's strong shooting was paced by three players in double-figures including Carly Gallagher, who scored a game-high 18 points. She netted four three-pointers and finished four-of-seven from downtown.

Lock Haven is right back at it tomorrow (Sunday, Dec. 2) at 1 p.m. when the Lady Eagles host Shippensburg University in PSAC action.
