Women’s Basketball edged by East Stroudsburg, 59-56

Emily Daugherty nets team-high 12 points, but it’s not enough to hold off Warriors on the road

Box Score EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women's basketball team got a team-high 12 points from Emily Daugherty (Laughlintown, Pa./Ligonier Valley), but it wasn't enough as the Lady Eagles were edged, 59-56 on the road at East Stroudsburg tonight.

Lock Haven (2-5, 0-4 PSAC) trailed by three at the break, 35-32, but the Lady Eagles led late in the game before ESU (3-5, 2-2 PSAC) used a final-minute comeback to secure the home-win.

With Lock Haven up by one, 56-55, East Stroudsburg's Fayola Moise converted a layup with 1:13 left to play, putting the Warriors up for good.

Daugherty was 4-of-10 shooting from the field and she also grabbed seven rebounds.

Marrysa Moyer (Altoona, Pa./Mansfield Univ.) chipped in with eights point, three steals and a game-high nine-rebounds.

Hannah Gildea (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) hit a pair of three's off the bench and finished with 10 points, while J.J. Hilliard (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) added eight.

ESU's Andrea Veres paced the Warriors with 12 points.

The Lady Eagles are right back at it tomorrow (Wednesday, Dec. 19) when they travel to Kutztown University for a 5:30 p.m. tip.
