Box Score LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Marrysa Moyer (Altoona, Pa./Mansfield Univ.) scored a career-high 22 points, leading three Lady Eagles in double-figures, but it wasn't enough as the Lock Haven University women's basketball team's comeback bid came up just short today at home vs. Shippensburg, 87-82.
Trailing by 12 points at the break, Lock Haven (2-3, 0-2 PSAC) opened the second half on a 19-9 run, but Shippensburg (6-1, 2-0 PSAC) held on for the five-point win.
Kelsey Ryan (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy) netted 17 points and grabbed six rebounds. She helped spark Lock Haven's early second-half run with six points and four rebounds in the first five minutes of the half. She finished with six rebounds.
Emily Daugherty (Laughlintown, Pa./Ligonier) was Lock Haven's third player in double-figures as she scored a season-high 19 points.
Moyer also led Lock Haven on the glass as she grabbed nine rebounds for the third time this season.
Shippensburg, who led by as many as 18 points in the first half, held a 47-35 halftime advantage. Dana Wert led Ship with 13 first-half points.
Moyer had nine points and six rebounds in the first 20 minutes of play.
The Red Raiders had four players in double-figures including Stephanie Knauer, who netted 20. Knauer had a double-double as she grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds as well.
