LOCK HAVEN, Pa. –
The Lock Haven University women's basketball team (8-13, 7-11 PSAC) fell to California (Pa.) University (14-8, 11-7 PSAC) 69-58 on the road today in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West action.

Cal seemed to have no answer for LHU freshman Lysa Mealing (Altoona, Pa/Altoona), who had a dominant first half on her way to her first career double-double.

Mealing scored six points, grabbed 12 rebounds and dished out four assists in the first period as LHU trailed just 33-28 at the break.

With her performance, Mealing set career-highs in points, rebounds and assists.  She finished the game with 11 points, 15 rebounds and four assists.

Mealing is the first Lady Eagle to record 15 or more rebounds in a game in five years.  Ginger Williams last did it when she grabbed 20 on February 7, 2007.

Samantha Lane (Montoursville, Pa./Loyalsock), Arlana Roland (Bel Air, Md./Bel Air), and Sharay Hall (Philadelphia/Carver) also scored in double figures for the Lady Eagles with 13, 12, and 10 points respectively.

This marked the second time this season that four Lady Eagles scored in double figures (11/28/11 vs. Chestnut Hill).

Cal was led by Danielle Luckett and Amy Johns who scored 24 points each.

The Lady Eagles return to action Wednesday, February 15 when they travel to Clarion University for a 5:30 p.m. tip.
