LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Freshman
Julian Bond (Philadelphia/Plymouth Whitemarsh) of the Lock Haven University men's basketball team (0-19, 0-16 PSAC) scored a career-high 18 points to lead three Bald Eagles into double figures, but it wasn't enough as The Haven was edged 68-66 by Edinboro University (11-9, 9-7 PSAC) in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West action.
All 18 of Bond's points came off three-point attempts. He also had four rebounds.
Anthony Baker (Bushkill, Pa./East Stroudsburg North) netted 14 points and
Andre Rivers (Philadelphia/Girard College) tallied 13.
Rivers stood out for LHU as he led the Bald Eagles on the boards. He recorded his second straight double-double against Edinboro, thanks to an 11-rebound effort. Eight of his game-high 11-rebounds came on the defensive side. Rivers also had a game-high five assists.
Terrell Johnson (Philadelphia/Imhotep Charter) chipped in with eight points.
The Bald Eagles trailed by three at the break, 38-35, but The Haven led by three in the final two minutes of play.
The Fighting Scots had three players reach double figures in the scoring column including Isaiah Prince, who had 27 points. He scored 19 in the first half.
Lock Haven returns to action on Wednesday, February 8 at 8 p.m. when they host Slippery Rock University. Wednesday night the Bald and Lady Eagles will take part in the PSAC's Hoop for a Cure night.
