LEESBURG, Fla. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (4-10-1) fell 9-8 today to Ohio Dominican University in an 11 inning thriller to close out their 2012 Spring Break Trip in Florida in the RussMatt Invitational.
The Bald Eagles led for most of the game and held an 8-4 lead going into the final inning, but were unable to hang on to the win.
Four different players had three hits on the day for LHU.
Scott Zuback (Mill Hall, Pa./Central Mountain) went 3-for-6 with a double. He drove in two RBIs and scored two runs.
Austin Botts (Seven Valleys, Pa./Wingate University) went 3-for-5 at the plate with two RBIs.
Jay Hartman (Lewistown, Pa./Indian Valley) went 3-for-6 with an RBI and a run scored.
Cory Dorman (Mifflinburg, Pa./Alleghany College of Maryland) was 3-for-5 and also scored a run. Ryan Henrizty (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) went 1-for-5 and also drove in two runs.
Kyle Schubert (Factoryville, Pa./Lackawanna Trail) started on the mound for The Haven. Schubert threw five innings and gave up three earned runs while striking out one hitter.
Corey Hepfer (Springfield, Pa./Penn State Brandywine) threw two shutout innings in relief.
The Bald Eagles open up Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West play Friday (March 16) when they travel to South Carolina to take on Clarion University. The two teams will play a doubleheader Friday and Saturday.
