Bald Eagles split doubleheader on the road against Gannon

LHU takes game one 6-5; Falls 5-0 in game two

ERIE, Pa. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (10-17-1, 5-7 PSAC) split a doubleheader today in cold and windy conditions at Gannon University (18-12, 8-4 PSAC) in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West play.

LHU took game one today 6-5.

Brandon Renoll (Hanover, Pa./Hanover) was the starting pitcher for the Bald Eagles and went the distance.  Renoll threw all seven innings in the complete game win.  He struck out four batters.

Three different Bald Eagles recorded two hits for the game.

Ryan Henritzy (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Kevin Cressman (Huntingdon, Pa./Mansfield University) was also 2-for-3 for the game and he drove in a game-high two RBIs.

Jose Diaz (Oak Ridge, N.J./Gloucester County College) also went 2-for-3 in game one.

Jay Hartman (Lewistown, Pa./Indian Valley) and Austin Botts (Seven Valleys, Pa./Wingate University) drove in one RBI each for The Haven.

The Bald Eagles were shut out in game two, 5-0.

LHU recorded three hits in the second game of the twinbill.

Cressman, Botts and Diaz each had one hit for the game.

Nick Cummings (Akron, N.Y./Akron) started on the mound for The Haven.  Cummings threw six innings and struck out three batters in the loss.

Landon Wahl pitched a strong game for Gannon, throwing the complete game shutout.  He struck out four hitters.

With today's split the Bald Eagles split the season series with Gannon 2-2.

The Bald Eagles are back in action on Tuesday (April 3) when they travel to Bucknell University for one nine inning game.
