BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven University softball team (23-16, 9-5 PSAC) swept both games of a doubleheader today against local rival and Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Central division leader Bloomsburg University (30-12, 9-5 PSAC) in thrilling fashion.
LHU took game one 3-0 behind a tremendous pitching performance from
Sarah Morse (Dover, N.H./Dover)
Morse allowed just four hits and one walk while striking out two batters on her way to the complete game shutout.
LHU was able to get on the scoreboard first in the fifth inning off the bat of
Alyssa Smith (Barrington, N.H./St. Thomas Aquinas), who doubled home the game's first run. Smith went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs in the game.
Nicole Smith (Milton Pa./Milton) smacked her 14th homerun of the season in the sixth inning, a solo shot to left field. She finished the game 2-for-3.
LHU took game two, 5-2.
The Lady Eagles scored their five runs on seven hits in the game.

Bridgette Clarke (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) led The Haven at the plate as they each had two hits.
Smith went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored and Clarke went 2-for-4 with a run.
Brittany Favazza (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) hit her first career homerun in the game. She finished 1-for-4.
Chelsea Edwards (Horsham, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) went 1-for-3 with an RBI triple in the game.
The Lady Eagles close out their 2012 regular season tomorrow (April 21) when they host Mansfield University for a crucial PSAC Central doubleheader. LHU will be celebrating senior day during the doubleheader, with a ceremony before the first game. First pitch has been moved up to 11 a.m. because of the threat of inclement weather.
