LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University softball team is making its ninth straight appearance in PSAC postseason play and the Lady Eagles begin their quest for their first PSAC Championship since 2009 with a 1 p.m. game versus Shippensburg tomorrow (Wednesday, April 25).
The PSAC Championships begin tomorrow at the ASA of PA Jake Kislan Softball Complex in Drifton, Pa. and run through Saturday's Championship game.
Lock Haven is 25-16 overall and coming off its second PSAC Central Regular season crown. LHU went 11-5 in Central Division action, sweeping its final two doubleheaders of the year over rivals Bloomsburg and Mansfield to win the division title in thrilling fashion.
Lock Haven and Shippensburg are no strangers, having split a doubleheader back on April 15. LHU took game one, 5-0 before falling to the Raiders, 2-1.
LHU and Ship met up in the post season last year, as Lock Haven eliminated Shippensburg from the NCAA Division II tournament with a 5-4 win in Atlantic Region action.
The Lady Eagles have won five PSAC titles, including four straight from 2006 to 2009. Shippensburg has three PSAC titles to its name including one in 2005.
