CALIFORNIA, Pa.  – The Lock Haven University softball team (30-20) and West Virginia Wesleyan (42-12) locked up in a pitcher's duel and it was the Bobcats, who escaped with the 1-0 win to earn the 2012 NCAA Atlantic Region 2 title.

With the win, West Virginia Wesleyan advances to the Super Regionals. It marks the second straight year the Bobcats eliminated Lock Haven from the NCAA Tournament.

Lock Haven ace Sarah Morse (Dover, N.H/Dover) and WVW pitcher Hillary Perez-Ashley combined to baffle batters, yielding a combined 11 hits in game that lasted just one hour and 14 minutes.

Morse scattered four hits and struck out five in seven innings of work.

Perez-Ashley finished with 10 strikeouts.

Brittany Favazza (Bel Air, Md./C Milton Wright) had a huge day at the plate four Lock Haven. She had four of Lock Haven's seven hits in a perfect 4-for-4 outing.

Erin Clary (New Freedom, Pa./Susquehannock) was 2-for-2.

Kaitlyn Carey's RBI single up the middle in the top of the first inning proved to be the game's only run and the only run WVU needed for the win.
