Lady Eagles split two matches to wrap up LHU Classic

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. –
The Lock Haven University volleyball team (3-5) wrapped up play at the LHU Classic today by splitting its two matches.

The Lady Eagles swept Alderson-Broaddus in their first match of the day, 3-0 (25-10, 25-10, 25-17), before falling to Ashland 3-1 (16-25, 23-25, 25-23, 16-25).

Bailey Farthing (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Coffman) led the way for LHU against Alderson-Broaddus with nine kills and four blocks.

LHU setter Alexa Garrity (Boothwyn, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) had the offense on point, as she tallied 29 assists.

Erin Walsh (Bethlehem, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic) recorded 29 digs in the match and Grace Novacek (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) added seven kills.

The Haven fell in its second match against Ashland, 3-1.

Gao Xuan (Dong Ying, China/Zibo No. 10 Middle School) led the Lady Eagles with 18 kills to go along with 10 digs.

Garrity recorded a match-high 39 assists and added 12 digs.

Walsh chipped in with 20 digs and Cody Anderson (Johnsonburg, Pa./Johnsonburg) added nine kills for The Haven.

The Lady Eagles return to action next Saturday (September 15) when they travel to Wheeling Jesuit for a non-conference matchup. The match is set to begin at 2 p.m.
