Bald Eagles fall to Edinboro at home, 81-74

LHU back in action Wednesday at Clarion

Box Score LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's basketball team (5-9, 3-8 PSAC) fell at home to Edinboro (10-5, 6-5 PSAC) today, 81-74 in a PSAC West matchup at Thomas Fieldhouse.

The Bald Eagles got off to a quick start tonight and held a 39-31 advantage at halftime.  Freshman Dave Garcia Scotrun, Pa./Pocono Mt. East) and junior Kasheef Festus (Philadelphia/Archbishop Carroll) each scored 10 points in the first period.

The Fighting Scots entered the game as the PSAC's top scoring offense, but LHU held EU to just 35.3% shooting in the opening period.

Edinboro came out firing in the second half.  The Fighting Scots made eight three-pointers (8-for-17) in the final period.

Wali Hepburn (Philadelphia/Neumann Goretti) finished with a team-high 21 points and 11 rebounds.

Hepburn, who leads the PSAC in scoring, has now scored at least 20 points in five straight games.

Garcia finished with a career-high 17 points on 7-of-14 shooting from the field, including three three-pointers.

Festus finished with 14 points and seven rebounds.

Andre Rivers (Philadelphia/Girard College) scored seven points and grabbed five rebounds off the bench for LHU.

Jay Fletcher led Edinboro with 27 points.  He made five threes in the game.

The Bald Eagles return to the court on Wednesday, January 23 when LHU travels to Clarion in a PSAC West matchup.  Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
