Box Score LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women's basketball dominated the first half of play, but a strong West Chester second half proved too much as the Golden Rams slipped past LHU, 75-64 today in PSAC action.
Lock Haven (4-7, 1-6 PSAC) got a sensational individual effort from
Kelsey Ryan (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy), who recorded her second double-double of the season. She scored a game-high 16 points and grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds. Her previous career-high was 11 boards.
Ryan's effort paced three Lady Eagles in double figures, but West Chester (7-4, 4-3 PSAC) shot 53 percent in the second half to pull away with the win.
Kacie Hershey (Cochranville, Pa./Octorara) and
Marrysa Moyer (Altoona, Pa./Mansfield Univ.) each scored 15 points, while grabbing nine and six rebounds, respectively.
Emily Daugherty (Laughlintown, Pa./Ligonier Valley) added nine points and pulled down 12 rebounds. She also dished out a team-high three assists.
Lock Haven dominated the boards in the first half, which led to a 10-point lead. The Lady Eagles led 35-25 after the first 20 minutes thanks to a lopsided 36-15 advantage in rebounds. Ryan and Daugherty both had eight.
Ryan also scored 11 of her 16 points in the first half.
West Chester's strong second-half was paced by Brittany Sicinksi, who scored 13 of her game-high 21 points in the second half.
Four other Golden Rams scored in double figures, including Alex Lennon, who had 19 points and five rebounds.
Lock Haven returns to action Friday, January 11 when the Lady Eagles travel to No. 22 Bloomsburg for a 5:30 p.m. tip.
