Box Score MERION STATION, Pa. – The Lock Haven University field hockey team picked up its first Atlantic 10 Conference win of the season with a 3-0 shutout at Saint Joseph's this afternoon.
Lock Haven (11-4 overall) moved to 1-1 in A-10 play thanks to a two-goal effort from
Nakira Downes (Bridgetown, Barbados/The Combermere School). Saint Joseph's falls to 4-10 overall and 1-1 in A-10 play.
The Haven's other goal came from
Megan Wenrich (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin).
Downes put LHU up 1-0 just 12:37 into the match and Wenrich made it 2-0 in the 40
th minute.
Downes was at it again and made it 3-0 LHU in the 61
st minute when she knocked home a rebound.
Goalie
Elaina White (Etters, Pa./Red Land) made five saves in the win.
The Lady Eagles outshot Saint Joseph's 12-7 and held a 7-2 advantage in penalty corners.
Lock Haven returns to action on Sunday, Oct. 20 at noon at La Salle in A-10 action.
