The Lock Haven University wrestling team opens the 2013-14 season this weekend.

Setting the stage:
The Bald Eagles will officially start the 2013-14 season under first-year head coach
Scott Moore on Saturday, Nov. 2 at home vs. Shippensburg and Bucknell. Lock Haven will also send a number of wrestlers to Clarion's Knight Point Open tournament on Sunday.

Lock Haven is coming off a 7-6 season a year ago and the Bald Eagles return both of their 2013 national qualifiers in
Dan Neff (141) and
Fred Garcia (184). Both wrestlers enter this season with individual national rankings.

Saturday marks the debut for Lock Haven's new coaching staff, including first-year head coach Scott Moore and first-year assistant coach Steve Fittery.

Neff was the 2013 PSAC Freshman of the Year and named to the Amateur Wrestling News All-Rookie Team last year.

Last year, Lock Haven and Shippensburg met for the first time since 2001 where LHU won 51-0. Last season, the Bald Eagles used two pins, two majors and a tech fall to down the Red Raiders 40-4. Lock Haven leads the all-time series 31-2-1.

Lock Haven beat Bucknell 23-16 last season thanks to a late-match tech fall by
Fred Garcia and pin at 285. The win snapped a two-match losing streak to the Bison. LHU controls the all-time series 16-2 with Bucknell's only wins coming in 2010 and '11.
