Setting state stage:
The Bald Eagles open the 2013-14 season tomorrow (Wednesday, Nov. 13) at 7 p.m. at home vs. Davis & Elkins in non-conference action.
Lock Haven is coming off a 6-19 overall season last year and the Bald Eagles went 4-18 in PSAC West play.
A huge key for Lock Haven is the return of its top two scorers from a year ago. Both
Wali Hepburn and
Kasheef Festus return to pave the way for LHU this season.

New place to call home in the East:
The 2013-14 season will mark the first season in LHU history the Bald Eagles will play as part of the PSAC Eastern Division. Lock Haven makes the move from the West to the East after the July addition of Seton Hill and Pitt-Johnstown to the PSAC. Both new schools are now part of the Western Division.
Picked sixth:
Lock Haven was picked to finish sixth in the 2013-14 PSAC East Preseason Coaches poll, which was announced on Oct. 30. The Bald Eagles will play basketball in the PSAC Eastern Division for the first time in history and were picked ahead of Cheyney, Kutztown and Shippensburg.
West Chester received five of nine first-place votes and the Golden Rams sit as the preseason favorite to win the division. East Stroudsburg and Millersville round out the top-three teams in the Eastern Division rankings. IUP received seven of nine first-place votes in the West and was tabbed as the preseason favorite to win the Western Division this season.
Preseason All-PSAC East:
Junior guard
Wali Hepburn was named to the Preseason All-PSAC East Team. Hepburn is the league's top-returning scorers (21.3 points per game). Hepburn was joined by Dontahe Jordan (Bloomsburg), Joe Bell (Mansfield), Dylan Edgar (Shippensburg), Whis Grant (East Stroudsburg) and Cory Blake (West Chester).
Hepburn leads the way:
Last season,
Wali Hepburn was second in the PSAC with 21.3 points per game. Last year he was also a Second Team All-PSAC West selection. Hepburn added 6.1 rebounds per game and dished out a team-best 101 assists (4.04/game).
Festus looks to build:
Kasheef Festus, Lock Haven's big man was a leader on a both sides of the court last year. He scored 15.4 points per game and was ninth in the league with 6.7 rebounds per game. Festus added 17 blocks and 16 steals.
Strong nucleus returning:
Dave Garcia,
Nate Walters and
Elijah Cooper all return after quality minutes last season. Lock Haven will also benefit from the return of
Julian Bond, who missed last year after averaging 7.4 points per game in 24 games during the 2011-12 season.
Garcia started 20 games, averaging 6.4 points per game, while Walters and Cooper both played in all 25 contests a year ago. Walters averaged 4.5 points and 3.6 boards, while Cooper knocked down 4.2 points per game.

Greg Forstater and
Sander Vanoutryve will look to expand their roles this season.
Newcomers:
Al Blount,
Dalton Reichard,
Brahieme Jackson and
Bootsie Walker will look to make an immediate impact on the program.
Alumni Day on the horizon:
The Bald Eagles are hosting an alumni day/game on Saturday, Nov. 23. Lock Haven hosts Bloomsburg that day (3 p.m.). All former players, coaches and managers are invited back. Check
