Lady Eagles down Millersville, 3-2 to advance to PSAC playoffs

Lock Haven secures third seed for upcoming PSAC tournament

Box Score LOCK HAVEN, Pa. –The Lock Haven University volleyball team (21-13, 12-10 PSAC) took down visiting Millersville University (16-15, 11-11 PSAC) 3-2 in a five-set thriller that had major playoff implications on the line.
 
With the win, Lock Haven finished the season 12-10 in PSAC East action and earned the No. 3 seed from the East for next week's playoffs.
 
Today also marked Senior Day as the Lady Eagles honored both, Baily Farthing (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Coffman) and Alex Brehony (Mertztown, Pa./Brandywine Heights).
 
Lock Haven has now won three straight PSAC East matches including a pair this weekend, which helped the Lady Eagles secure the No. 3 seed from the PSAC East for the upcoming playoffs. Yesterday, Lock Haven swept top-seeded Shippensburg 3-0 and today in a battle for the No. 3 spot, Lock Haven upended Millersville.
 
Lock Haven will now take on Pitt-Johnstown, the two-seed from the East on Tuesday night in the PSAC Tournament.
 
Leading the way today vs. Millersville was Bailey Farthing with 15 kills.  Cody Anderson (Johnsonburg, Pa./Johnsonburg) added 15 kills and four block assists.
 
Alex Brehony added 12 kills in tonight's match.
 
Sydney Belcastro (Pittsburgh, Pa./Hopewell) recorded 25 digs and served up two aces and Megan Flick (Howard, Pa./Bald Eagle Area) added 17 digs. 
Jessica Brown (Fawn Grove, Pa./Kennard-Dale) dished out 52 assists and added 18 digs.
 
Katie Lesinski led Millersville with 21 kills and seven digs.
 
The Lady Eagles return to action on Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. in PSAC Quarterfinal action at Pitt-Johnstown. Check back to www.GoLHU.com on Monday for a preview of Lock Haven's PSAC Quarterfinal match.
