Moyer records second consecutive double-double, but Lady Eagles fall to Shippensburg on the road

Moyer nets 19 points and grabs 18 rebounds in 87-75 loss

Box Score SHIPPENSBURG, Pa.  – Junior Marrysa Moyer (Altoona, Pa./Mansfield Univ.), recorded her second consecutive double-double of the season, but the Lock Haven University women's basketball team (1-3) fell, 87-75 to Shippensburg (3-1) on the road.
 
The Lady Eagles led by seven at the break, 36-29, but Shippensburg broke away for a late lead in the second half to win, 87-75. 
 
Moyer's double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds helped anchor Lock Haven for the lead in the first half.
 
With a strong second half start, Moyer continued to be a threat on the court grabbing 18 total rebounds and netting 19 points in 37 minutes of action.
 
Sami Lane (Montoursville, Pa./Loyalsock) netted 14 points in 24 minutes.
 
Shippensburg tied the game, 41-41 with fifteen minutes remaining and LHU fought for the lead until The Raiders broke away for the late win.
 
J.J. Hilliard (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) and Kelsey Ryan (Levittstown, Pa./Neshaminy) scored 11 and 10 points, respectively.
 
Emily Daugherty (Laughlintown, Pa./Ligionier Valley) netted nine points and dished out team-high five assists for LHU.
 
LHU scored 24 points in the paint and tallied nine points off forced turnovers in the game.
 
Stephanie Knauer led Shippensburg with 21 points and nine rebounds.
 
Lock Haven returns to action Saturday (November 23) against Bloomsburg in PSAC East action at Thomas Fieldhouse (1 p.m.).
