Men’s Basketball falls to Bloom at home in PSAC action

Hepburn leads Haven with 18 points and nine rebounds

Box Score LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's basketball team (2-2, 1-1 PSAC East) dropped a tough contest at home to Bloomsburg (4-1, 2-0 PSAC East) today, 62-57 on alumni day at The Haven.

The Bald Eagles got off to a great start in the first half and led BLOOM by three at the halftime break, 29-26.

Wali Hepburn (Philadelphia, Pa./Neumann-Goretti) led all scorers with 10 points in the first half, including a jaw-dropping alley-oop dunk off of a sensational pass from Elijah Cooper (Manchester, Pa./Northeastern) midway through the period.

Lock Haven shot 50.0% from the field in the first half and assisted on eight of its 12 field goals in the period.

The game remained tight throughout the second half, as neither Lock Haven nor Bloomsburg were able to gain much of an advantage until the final minutes of play.

Hepburn finished with a team-high 18 points and nine rebounds to go along with five assists.

Kasheef Festus (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) was tough down low for The Haven all day.  Festus netted 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds for LHU.

Bootsie Walker (Chester, Pa./Chester) added nine points on the day.

Julian Bond (Philadelphia, Pa./Plymouth Whitemarsh) came off the bench and drilled three three-pointers for The Haven.  He finished with nine points.

Dontahe Jordan led Bloomsburg with 18 points.

The Bald Eagles welcomed back a number of alumni to today's game, including LHU's all-time leading scorer Billy Arre, who was honored before the game with a basketball commemorating his illustrious career.

Lock Haven returns to action Monday (Nov. 25) when the Bald Eagles travel to Penn State Wilkes-Barre for a non-conference matchup.  Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
