Marrysa Moyer (Altoona, Pa./Mansfield Univ.), recorded her third double-double of the season, but the Lock Haven University women's basketball team (1-3) fell, 66-62 to visiting Bloomsburg University (3-1).

The two teams battled back-and-forth throughout the first half and the half ended with Bloomsburg holding a 31-29 advantage.

LHU quickly tied the game 31-31 over a minute into the second half, when
J.J. Hilliard (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) netted a jumper in the paint.

Again both teams fought for the lead throughout the second half, with neither team unable to pull away. Bloomsburg gained a ten-point advantage with 8:32 remaining to lead, 56-46.

Emily Daugherty (Laughlintown, Pa./Ligonier Valley) gained momentum for Lock Haven when she netted a three pointer to cut the Bloomsburg lead to, 56-49. The Lady Eagles went on a six-point run to cut the Bloomsburg lead further to, 65-62.Â

Despite the nail-biting battle Lock Haven displayed in the final minutes of the game, LHU was unable to regain the lead from BU.

Daugherty led LHU with 17 points and grabbing five rebounds.

Moyer tallied her third consecutive double-double, finishing with 13 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.Â

Kelsey Ryan (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy) and
Sami Lane (Montoursville, Pa./Loyalsock) played well for LHU down low. Ryan netted eight points and Lane netted seven points. Lane dished out four assists in 27 minutes of action.

J.J. Hilliard netted five points and grabbed three rebounds.

LHU scored 34 points in the paint and tallied 24 points off forced turnovers.Â

Catherine Noack led Bloomsburg with 21 points and five rebounds in the game.

Lock Haven returns to action Monday (Dec. 2) against Chestnut Hill at Thomas Fieldhouse (6 p.m.).
