Box Score ERIE, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's basketball team (4-4) fell on the road tonight to Gannon (6-4), 75-62 in a PSAC crossover matchup.
LHU opened up on fire from three-point-land in the first half, hitting five of their first six shots from behind the arc. Five different players hit a three for The Haven in the period, but the Bald Eagles found themselves behind, 32-30 after 20 minutes of action.
Wali Hepburn (Philadelphia/Neumann-Goretti) led LHU with nine points at the break.
Gannon opened the second half with a 22-11 run, opening up a 54-41 lead, but the Bald Eagles were resilient and cut the lead to just six, 65-59 with 1:21 to play.
Gannon would not relinquish its lead however, as the Golden Knights sealed the game at the free throw line in the final minute of play.
Hepburn finished with 14 points on the night.
Dave Garcia (Scotrun, Pa./Pocono Mt. East) had a solid game off of the bench for LHU. He netted 11 points on the night.
Bootsie Walker (Chester, Pa./Chester) scored 14 points and grabbed four rebounds on the night.
Kasheef Festus (Philadelphia/Archbishop Carroll) added nine points and five boards.
Al Blount (Northampton, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic) scored five points and dished out a game-high six assists for LHU.
The Bald Eagles finished with nine three's (9-for-15), the most The Haven has made in a game this season.
Five Golden Knights scored in double-figures, led by Adam Blazek and Brandon Emmitt, who scored 16 points each.
Lock Haven returns to action this Saturday (December 21) when LHU hosts Clarion at Thomas Fieldhouse. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m.
