Women’s Basketball drops PSAC crossover matchup at #2 Gannon

Moyer records game-high 25 pts. & 11 rebs.

Box Score ERIE, Pa.  – The Lock Haven University women's basketball team (1-8, 0-3 PSAC East) fell on the road tonight to No. 2 Gannon (11-0, 4-0 PSAC West), 95-64 in a PSAC crossover matchup.

The Lady Eagles played right with the nationally ranked Golden Knights throughout much of the first half, but Gannon closed the opening period on a, 12-3 run to take a, 42-29 lead into the halftime break.

Kelsey Ryan (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy) led LHU with six points in the first period.

The Lady Eagles battled toe-to-toe with Gannon to begin the second half and the Lady Eagles trailed by just five, 56-51 with 11:47 to play.

Gannon went on a run late to pull out the win.

Marrysa Moyer (Altoona, Pa./Mansfield Univ.) had a huge second half for LHU.  She scored 20 of her game-high 25 points in the period.  Moyer added a game-high 11 rebounds.

Moyer shot 8-of-14 from the field, including 4-of-5 on three-pointers, tying a career-best for three's in a game.

Ryan finished with 11 points and four boards on the night.

Sami Lane (Montoursville, Pa./Loyalsock) had a solid all-around game for The Haven, as she scored 10 points, dished out five assists and grabbed four rebounds.

Jen Papich and Nettie Blake led Gannon with 22 and 20 points, respectively.

Lock Haven returns to action this Saturday (December 21) when LHU hosts Clarion at Thomas Fieldhouse.  Tipoff is set for 1 p.m.

Tonight's game marked the final game of a three-game road trip for LHU…Marrysa Moyer's 25 points tonight were just one point shy of her career high of 26… Moyer is now fifth in the PSAC in scoring (18.1 ppg) and second in rebounding (10.9 rpg)
