Box Score LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's basketball team (5-4) downed Clarion (2-6), 93-62 today in a PSAC crossover matchup at Thomas Fieldhouse.
The Bald Eagles came out on fire, flying up and down the court. LHU converted two dunks in the first, including an alley-oop by
Bootsie Walker (Chester, Pa./Chester) off of a sensational pass by
Wali Hepburn (Philadelphia, Pa./Neumann-Goretti) that brought the home crowd to its feet.
Lock Haven held a 10-point, 38-28 halftime lead.
Walker led all scorers in the first half with 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting from the field.
Hepburn netted seven points and dished out five assists in the period.
LHU started the second half right where they left off the first, going on a 10-0 run in the first 3:58 of the second half which pushed The Haven lead to, 48-28.
After a Clarion timeout, the Bald Eagles continued their outstanding play, as they outscored Clarion, 55-34 in the second half.
Kasheef Festus (Philadelphia/Archbishop Carroll) led LHU with 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the field and pulled down eight boards.
Elijah Cooper (Manchester, Pa./Northeastern) had a career-day off of the bench. Cooper scored a career-high 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting and dished out four assists.
Freshman
Dalton Reichard (Wrightsville, Pa./Eastern York) scored a season-best eight points off the bench, drilling two three-pointers late in the second half.
Nate Walters (Reedsville, Pa./Indian Valley) scored nine points and grabbed eight rebounds for LHU
Dave Garcia (Scotrun, Pa./Pocono Mt. East) and
Brahieme Jackson (Philadelphia/Bishop McDevitt) each scored eight points and grabbed four rebounds.
The Bald Eagles held Clarion to just 29.4% shooting from the field and 15.8% from three-point land in the game.
Lock Haven returns to action on New Year's Eve day when LHU hosts Goldey-Beacom at Thomas Fieldhouse at 12 p.m.
