Men’s Basketball falls on the road in physical PSAC East game to #17 East Stroudsburg

Hepburn nets season-high 31 points; Walters records first double-double of the season

Box Score EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. –The Lock Haven University men's basketball team (3-3, 1-2 PSAC East) fell on the road to No. 17 East Stroudsburg (7-0, 3-0 PSAC East), 102-87 in a physical PSAC East matchup.

The Bald Eagles got off to a great start tonight and led by as many as 10 points (26-16) in the opening period.

The nationally ranked Warriors rallied back late in the first half, however with a, 19-2 run and ESU held a 41-40 halftime advantage.

The Bald Eagles, who got into foul trouble in the half, saw eight different players score in the period led by Wali Hepburn (Philadelphia, Pa./Neumann-Goretti) who dropped 16 points in the first 20 minutes of action.

The game turned into a physical battle in the second half, as the two teams combined for 57 fouls in the game.

ESU used the physical play to its advantage and took control of the game down the stretch.

Hepburn finished with a season-high 31 points.  He added six assists, four rebounds and three steals.

Senior forward Nate Walters (Reedsville, Pa./Indian Valley) recorded his first double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Bootsie Walker (Chester, Pa./Chester) netted 10 points on the night.

Brahieme Jackson (Philadelphia/Bishop McDevitt) had a solid game off the bench, as he tallied nine points and six rebounds.

Whis Grant led ESU with 24 points on the night.  Rasheed Moore added 20 points and 16 rebounds for the Warriors.
Lock Haven returns to action Tuesday, December 17 when the Bald Eagles travel to Mercyhurst in PSAC crossover action.
