Women’s basketball falls to East Stroudsburg, 75-67

Hannah Gildea nets team-high 12 points in the loss

Box Score LOCK HAVEN, Pa.  – The Lock Haven University women's basketball team (1-6, 0-3 PSAC) fell on the road to East Stroudsburg University (4-2, 2-1 PSAC), 75-67 tonight in PSAC East action.
 
Lock Haven closed out the first half trailing East Stroudsburg, 31-27.
 
At the start of the half The Haven battled back but The Warriors gained momentum with a 12 point lead on the Lady Eagles.  As the clock ran down, LHU continued to respond but ran out of minutes as ESU sealed the, 75-67 win. 

Hannah Gildea (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) led LHU with a game-high 12 points and a strong offensive half, but East Stroudsburg sealed the win with a late second-half run.  Gildea was a spark for the Haven offense netting 12 points and 5-5 in free throws in just 16 minutes of action.
 
Sami Lane (Montoursville, Pa./Loyalsock) helped drive The Lady Eagles adding 10 points and grabbing three rebounds.
 
Kelsey Ryan (Levittown, Pa./Neshimy) scored nine points and added five rebounds in 24 minutes for The Haven.
 
Marrysa Moyer (Altoona, Pa./Mansfield Univ.) and Syndey Morse (Norristown, Pa/Norristown) added seven and eight points, respectively.
 
LHU scored 28 points in the paint and tallied 18 points off forced turnovers. 
 
Ryan Fiascki led East Stroudsburg with 16 points and three assists in 21 minutes of action.
 
The Lady Eagles are back in action Tuesday (Dec. 17) at Mercyhurst (5:30 p.m.).

Entering tonight's game, Marrysa Moyer led the PSAC in rebounds with 12.8 per game … Moyer's 12.8 rebounds are the fifth-most in Division II…Gildea leads LHU in 3-point percentage with .400.
