Box Score SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's basketball team (5-16, 3-15 PSAC) fell on the road to Slippery Rock (16-6, 13-5 PSAC) tonight, 94-76 in a PSAC West matchup.
Wali Hepburn (Philadelphia/Neumann Goretti) and
Kasheef Festus (Philadelphia/Archbishop Carrol) led LHU offensively in the game.
Hepburn, who entered tonight's game as the PSAC's leading scorer (21.6 PPG), led all scorers tonight with 22 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field. He dished out a team-high four assists.
Festus netted 21 points on an efficient 7-of-10 shooting.
Terrell Johnson (Philadelphia/Imhotep Charter) scored 13 points and grabbed a team-high five rebounds on the night. He shot 3-of-5 from three-point land.
Freshman
Dave Garcia (Scotrun, Pa./Pocono Mt. East) chipped in with 10 points.
The Bald Eagles shot well from the field in the game, as they connected on 47.2% (25-of-53) of their attempts.
Lock Haven trailed 48-32 at halftime, but the Bald Eagles played right with Slippery Rock in the second half.
The Rock had five players score in double-figures, led by Darious Clark's 19 points.
The Bald Eagles are back in action Saturday (February 16) when LHU hosts California (Pa.) in the first game of a three-game home stand. LHU basketball will also be celebrating its “Hooping for a Cure” night against CAL. “Hooping for a Cure” is a fundraiser set up by the Women's Basketball Coaches' Association (WBCA) to promote breast cancer. Tipoff on Saturday is scheduled for 3 p.m.
