Box Score LOCK HAVEN, Pa.  – Sami Lane (Montoursville, Pa./Loyalsock) of the Lock Haven University women's basketball team (7-16, 4-15 PSAC) scored a career-high 27 points, but it wasn't enough, as LHU fell to California (Pa.) (16-7, 12-7 PSAC), 79-62 at home.

Today marked “Hooping for a Cure” day at LHU.  Hooping for a Cure is a national fundraiser to support and promote breast cancer awareness throughout February set up by the Women's Basketball Coaches' Association (WBCA).

Each PSAC team designated one home game this season in which they promoted Hooping for a Cure.  The Lady Eagles showed their support for Hooping for a Cure today by wearing special pink shirts during warm-ups, along with pink ribbons and socks during the game.

Lane got off to a tremendous start today and had a game-high 12 points in the first half.  Lane's big first half kept LHU right in the ball game with CAL.

The Lady Eagles held a 24-21 lead with 7:09 remaining in the opening period, but the Vulcans closed the half on a 15-6 run and CAL led 36-30 at the break.

California (Pa.) shot well in the second half to help extend its lead throughout the period.  The Vulcans hit 5-of-10 three pointers in the half and shot 45.9% from the field.

Lane finished with a career-high 27 points on 12-of-22 shooting from the field.

It marked the second straight game where Lane set a new career-high in points and her 27 points are the most by any Lady Eagle this season.

Emily Daugherty (Laughlintown, Pa./Ligonier Valley) netted 11 points and pulled down eight rebounds on the day.

Kelsey Ryan (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy) scored seven points and grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds.  Ryan has now posted double-digit rebounds in three of her last four games.

CAL was led by Stephanie Michael's 24 points.  She connected on 6-of-9 three's in the game.

The Lady Eagles are back in action on Wednesday (February 16) when LHU hosts Clarion in PSAC West action.  Tipoff at Thomas Fieldhouse is scheduled for 6 p.m.
