Box Score 2 LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – For the second straight day, the Lock Haven University baseball team (8-12, 4-4 PSAC) split a doubleheader with Gannon University (12-8, 6-2 PSAC) in PSAC West action.
The Bald Eagles got a sensational performance from starting pitcher
Madison Neddo (Earlville, Md./Coppin State Univ.) to win game won 3-1, but The Haven fell in game two, 9-0.
Neddo was outstanding in game one. He threw all seven innings and allowed just one run on five hits, striking out four Golden Knights.
Anthony Kyne (Newtown Square, Pa./Penn State Brandywine) and
Austin Botts (Seven Valleys, Pa./Wingate) combined for four of LHU's eight hits in the game.
Kyne was 2-for-3 with an RBI double and Botts was 2-for-2 with a walk.
Scott Zuback (Mill Hall, Pa./Central Mountain) went 1-for-3 at the plate and stole two bases in the game.
The Bald Eagles could not get the bats going in game two and fell 9-0.
Gannon's Shayne Herold allowed just one hit in the complete game win, a fifth inning single by Kyne.
Joe Nestor (Drexel Hill, Pa./Monsignor Bonner) started on the mound for The Haven. He allowed five runs in 4.1 innings of work.
Aaron Lidgett (Morrisdale, Pa./West Branch) and
Kyle Schubert (Factoryville, Pa./Lackawanna Trail) came in to pitch in relief for LHU.
Lock Haven returns to action on Tuesday, March 30 when the Bald Eagles host local rival Bloomsburg for a single nine-inning game. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
