Box Score 2 INDIANA, Pa. – Brianna Jennings (Wyalusing, Pa./Wyalusing) picked up both wins in the circle and the Lock Haven University softball team combined for 22 hits over two games, as the Lady Eagles swept PSAC Central rival IUP on the road today, 4-1 and 12-6.
Lock Haven (21-6, 7-1 PSAC Central) scored four runs on eight hits in game one and beat IUP (17-10, 3-5 PSAC Central), 4-1 in game-one, before blasting 12 runs on 14 hits in the, 12-6 game-two win.
The Lady Eagles are now 7-1 in PSAC Central action and sit alone atop of the division standings as Bloomsburg and Mansfield were rained out today.
Jennings continued her dominance in the circle, picking up the wins in both games. She is now 15-1 on the year.
She struck out four in game one.
Leading the way for the offense in game one was,
Alicia Cacciotti (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads), who was 2-for-3 with a RBI and run scored.
Taylor Magee (Chesapeake, Va./Western Branch) was 2-for-2 at the plate.
In game two, Jennings pitched the final 2 and 2/3 innings on the way to the win.
The game was tied, 6-6 heading into the seventh inning, but the Lady Eagles opened the flood gates, posting a six-run inning.
Jump-starting the bats was a grand slam by
Nicole Smith (Milton, Pa./Milton). It was N. Smith's third home run of the year.
Cacciotti's bat stayed hot in game two, as she went 4-for-5.
Chelsea Edwards (Horsham, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) was 3-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs scored.
Alyssa Smith (Barrington, N.H./St. Thomas Aquinas) was 2-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored, while
Nikki Weaknecht (Kutztown, Pa./Kutztown) was 2-for-3 with a RBI.
Lock Haven is right back at it tomorrow (Saturday, April 13) at Shippensburg (1 p.m.).
