Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 SHIPPENSBURG, Pa.  – The Lock Haven University softball team split a doubleheader on the road today at Shippensburg, but the game-one win was a milestone win for the Lady Eagles as it marked the 100th career win for LHU head coach Kelly Shannon

Lock Haven (22-7) beat Shippensburg (25-6), 2-1 in nine innings in game one, but host-Ship edged The Haven, 1-0 in game two.

Shannon, who is in her fourth season as head coach has now won at least 22 games in each of her first four seasons.

Brianna Jennings (Wyalusing, Pa./Wyalusing) was again a huge part of the story in the game-one win. She recorded her 16th win of the year in the pitching circle, thanks to her monstrous home run the top of the ninth inning.

Jennings struck out four and scattered four hits on the way to the win. She's now 16-1 on the season.

Jennings's two-out, solo homer to left field in the top of the ninth was her second home run of the year and it proved to be the difference in the game.

Lock Haven's other run came in the top of the sixth when Alyssa Smith (Barrington, N.H./St. Thomas Aquinas) drove in Sarah Schwalm (Dauphin, Pa./Central Dauphin).

Schwalm and Jennings were both 2-for-4 at the plate in game one.

Shippensburg, who sits atop the PSAC East standings, won the game-two pitchers duel between Sarah Morse (Dover, N.H./Dover) and Ship's Emily Estep.

Despite a three-hit effort from Morse, Shippensburg scored the game's only run in the bottom of the third.

Nikki Weaknecht (Kutztown, Pa./Kutztown) recorded two of Lock Haven's five hits in game two. She finished 2-for-3 at the plate.

The Lady Eagles return home tomorrow (Sunday, April 14) at 2 p.m. when they host Georgian Court in non-conference action.
