Box Score 2 LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Brianna Jennings (Wyalusing, Pa./Wyalusing) and
Sarah Morse (Dover, N.H./Dover) threw back-to-back one-hitters and the Lock Haven University softball team swept Mansfield in a huge early-season PSAC Central doubleheader.
Lock Haven (19-6, 5-1 PSAC Central) shutout Mansfield (14-10, 3-3 PSAC Central), 3-0 and 6-0 and with the sweep, the Lady Eagles move atop of PSAC Central standings.
Jennings struck out nine in seven innings of work in game one. She allowed just the one hit and walked two Mountaineers.
The Lady Eagles plated all three game-one runs in the bottom of the third.
Alicia Cacciotti (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads) was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
Morse struck out three, walked none and allowed just the one hit on the way to the 6-0 win in game two.
The Lady Eagles wasted no time in jumping on rival-Mansfield in game two, scoring four runs in the bottom of the first.
Taylor Magee (Chesapeake, Va./Western Branch) was 2-for-3 with a run scored and one RBI, while
Sarah Schwalm (Dauphin, Pa./Central Dauphin) drove in a pair of runs in the game-two win.
Lock Haven returns to action on Friday, April 12 at IUP (2:30 p.m.) for a PSAC Central doubleheader.
