Lady Eagles downed 3-0 by #13 Penn State

Elaina White turned in another sensational effort in goal, finished seven saves

Box Score LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University field hockey team (3-2) was downed 3-0 tonight by local-rival and 13th ranked Penn State (2-3).

Ashtin Klingler scored the first of Penn State's two first-half goals in the eighth minute. Laura Gebhart made it 2-0 in the 28th as PSU led 2-0 at the half.

Whitney Reddig rounded out the scoring in the 59th minute.

Despite the loss, Elaina White (Etters, Pa./Red Land) turned in another spectacular effort in goal. She kept LHU in the game throughout and finished with seven saves.

Megan Wenrich (Lancaster, Pa./McCaskey), Steph Ebersole (Elizabethtown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) and Nakira Downes (Bridgetown, Barbados/The Combermere School) all turned in solid efforts tonight for The Haven. 

Lock Haven entered tonight's game ranked second in the nation in team save-percentage & third in shutouts-per-game. White is also ranked third in the nation in individual save-percentage.

Lock Haven returns to action on Saturday, September 14 on the road at Colgate (1 p.m.). LHU also plays at Siena on Sunday (Sept. 15) at noon.

Game Notes:
- Penn State was the second nationally ranked opponent that LHU has hosted this year. Lock Haven opened the year with a 2-1 loss to No. 1 North Carolina.
- LHU shutout Georgetown 5-0 on Sunday. It was the Lady Eagles second shutout of the year.
- Lock Haven is 2-2 at home.
