Women’s Basketball returns to action with pair of home games

Lady Eagles host PSAC-newcomer Pitt-Johnstown Friday (1 p.m.) and host nationally-ranked IUP Saturday (1 p.m.)

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women's basketball team returns to the court this weekend with a pair of home games at Thomas Fieldhouse.
 
The Lady Eagles host PSAC-newcomer Pitt-Johnstown tomorrow (Friday, Jan. 3) at 1 p.m. and LHU hosts IUP on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Thomas Fieldhouse. IUP received votes in the most recent NCAA Division II poll.

Five things you need to know:
1. The Lady Eagles are coming off a narrow, 85-79 home-loss to Clarion on Saturday, Dec. 21. Marrysa Moyer led Lock Haven with a team-high 16 points and nine rebounds. Lysa Mealing, who returned to the team following the semester's end, netted a career-high 15 points in the loss.
 
2. Moyer's 17.9 points per game lead the Lady Eagles and rank sixth in the PSAC. Her 10.7 rebounds per game are the second-most in the PSAC.
 
3. Emily Daugherty is averaging 15.9 per game and Sami Lane adds 9.5. Daugherty leads the PSAC in minutes per game (35.6) and Lane is 14th in the PSAC in assists per game with 3.4.
 
4. Following a season-opening win over Wilmington (Del.), Lock Haven has dropped nine straight games. Lock Haven is the midst of a six-game streak vs. PSAC West opponents. The Lady Eagles were 4-18 in the PSAC Western Division last season. The 2013-14 season marks Lock Haven's first as a member of the PSAC Eastern Division.
 
5. As a team, Lock Haven is ranked seventh out of 18 PSAC teams in rebounding.
