LOCK HAVEN, PA. – The Lock Haven University volleyball team (14-8, 8-6 PSAC) downed visiting Millersville University (9-13, 3-11 PSAC), 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, & 25-18) today at Thomas Fieldhouse on The PSECU court.
Coming off a conference win against visiting Shippensburg last night, the Lady Eagles held Millersville to just 23 kills and 20 errors in three straight sets to seal another conference win today.
Cody Anderson (Johnsonburg, Pa./Johnsonburg) and
Megan Flick (Howard, Pa./Bald Eagle) continued to have a dominating 2014 campaign. Anderson and Flick recorded 13 kills, respectively and Anderson registered a .346 hitting percentage.
Freshman
Sarah Gomish (Ebensburg, Pa./Bishop Carroll) delivered an all-around effort with nine kills, seven digs, and two aces in the win.
Jessica Brown (Fawn Grove, Pa./Kennard-Dale) recorded another double-double on the season, dishing out 44 assists and 10 digs.
Senior
Bethany Burns (Erie, Pa./McDowell) held strong and led LHU defensively with 20 digs.
The Lady Eagles were aided by eight assisted blocks and a .500 hitting-percentage in the third set.
Today's match was a "Pink Out" for Breast Cancer Awareness. The ladies wore pink jerseys and encouraged all fans in attendance to wear pink in support.
Lock Haven returns to action Friday (October 24) when the Lady Eagles travel to Kutztown (1 pm) in conference action.
