RICHMOND, Va. – Megan Wenrich (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) scored the only goal of the match 5:46 in, and the Lock Haven University field hockey team (11-5, 5-1 A-10) edged host Richmond University (9-8, 5-2 A-10) today in an Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10) clash that had major playoff implications on the line.

The win – Lock Haven's fourth straight, moves LHU into sole possession of second-place in the conference standings. UMass beat La Salle, 3-1 and takes over first-place in the standings.

The goal was Wenrich's sixth of the season and third in the last two games. It came off a penalty corner with
Rachel Valentine (Souderton, Pa./Souderton) and
Taylor Kennedy (Westmont, N.J./Haddon Township) both picking up assists on the play.

It was the Lady Eagles' only penalty corner of the game. Both LHU and Richmond has six shots apiece in the A-10 thriller.

Elaina White (Etters, Pa./Red Land) was credited with the shutout, as she came up huge for LHU and finished with four saves.

It was Lock Haven's third straight shutout as the Lady Eagles have outscored opponents 7-0 over the last three matches.

LHU returns to action on Sunday, October 26 (12 p.m.) at VCU.
