Women’s Soccer battles to 0-0 draw in season-finale

Lady Eagles cap 2014 season with 0-0 (2OT) tie with Bloomsburg

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women's soccer team (3-12-2, 3-11-2 PSAC) closed the 2014 season today with a 0-0 (2OT) draw with visiting Bloomsburg (7-8-3, 5-8-3 PSAC).

Following today's match, Lock Haven took time to honor its seniors – Amanda Allex (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora), Breona Browner (Pittsburgh/Penn Hills), Michelle Cuomo (Schenectady, N.Y./Herkimer), Jamie Hunter (Marietta, Pa./Donegal), Jenna Hunter (Marietta, Pa./Donegal), Taylor Ludlam (Middletown, Del./Appoquinimink), Danielle Mauro (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) and Harley Rolph (Newton, N.J./Kittatinny Regional) for their many contributions to the program.

Late in the first overtime period, Jenna Hunter sent a 25-yard free kick sailing toward the upper corner, forcing Bloom-keeper Shelby Koch to make a fingertip save.

Koch's save resulted in a LHU corner kick and Jenna Hunter sent a perfect pass to Maddy Novak (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central), who's diving header had to be saved off the line by a Huskie defender.

In the second overtime, Morgan Euston (Newton, N.J./Newton) made a diving safe late to preserve the shutout for Lock Haven.

Lock Haven finishes the 2014 season, 3-12-2 overall. It marked the first year for head coach Rob Eaton, a 1988 LHU graduate.
