Elkins, W. Va. – The Lock Haven University men's basketball team fell on the road this afternoon, 76-64 at Davis & Elkins University in a non-conference matchup.
Lock Haven (0-4) played well in the first half and the Bald Eagles held a narrow five-point, 28-23 lead over Davis & Elkins (1-2) at the halftime break.
The Bald Eagles remained in control to begin the second half and The Haven held its largest lead of the game, 52-38 when
Brahieme Jackson (Philadelphia/Bishop McDevitt) tipped in a Haven miss with 11:44 to play.
D&E took control from that point forward, however. The Senators began to chip away at LHU's lead and would eventually take command of the game. Davis & Elkins closed the game on a, 38-12 run in the final 11:44.
Wali Hepburn (Philadelphia/Neumann-Goretti) led the Bald Eagles with 22 points. Hepburn shot 14-of-16 from the free throw line and added six rebounds and four assists.
Bootsie Walker (Chester, Pa./Chester) scored 10 points and grabbed six rebounds on the day.
Nate Walters (Reedsville, Pa./Indian Valley) chipped in with eight points and seven rebounds.
Jackson finished with seven points off the bench.
Alex Vasiljevic led Davis & Elkins with 21 points and eight rebounds.
Lock Haven returns to action Wednesday, December 3 when the Bald Eagles host West Chester for a PSAC matchup. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
