Haven Hoops Weekly Preview: Women’s Basketball set to travel to Pitt-Johnstown Tuesday

The Lady Eagles travel to Pitt-Johnstown Tuesday, Dec. 16 and IUP Wednesday, Dec. 17 in conference action

The Lock Haven University women's basketball team will face Pitt-Johnstown and IUP Tuesday, Dec. 16 (5:30 pm) and Wednesday, Dec. 17 (5:30 pm) on the road in PSAC action.
 
Two weeks ago:
The Lady Eagles dropped their first game of the week against West Chester on Wednesday (Dec. 3) at Thomas Fieldhouse before picking up their first win of the season on the road against Mansfield on Saturday (Dec. 6). 
 
LHU dropped the first game, 75-63 against West Chester before picking up a conference win on the road at Mansfield, 54-33.
 
The Lady Eagles did not compete last week due to finals week. 
 
Lock Haven at Pitt-Johnstown:

Lock Haven will travel to Pitt-Johnstown on Tuesday, Dec. 16 marking the first game against UPJ this season.
 
Pitt-Johnstown is currently ranked third in the PSAC West.  UPJ was slated fifth in the PSAC Preseason Poll prior to picking up four conference wins for a, 6-2 overall record.  Jasmine Harper leads the Mountain Cats averaging 20.1 points per game and 10.4 rebounds.
 
The Mountain Cats are coming off a, 78-67 win over the Seton Hill Griffins.  Harper led UPJ with 16 points and 13 rebounds.
 
Last time against UPJ:
The Lady Eagles picked up a dominating, 70-58 win over UPJ in the 2013-14 season on The PSECU Court at Thomas Fieldhouse.
 
Emily Daugherty and Marrysa Moyer powered The Haven attack with 12 points, respectively.  Moyer recorded a double-double adding a game-high 16 rebounds. 
 
LHU recorded 34 points in the paint and added 25 bench points.  The Lady Eagles shot 73.33% from the free throw line in the first half, netting 11 of 15 free throws.
 
The Haven is 6-12 in all-time series against the Mountain Cats.
 
Lock Haven at IUP

The Lady Eagles will take the trip from UPJ to Indiana (Pa.) Wednesday, December 17 (5:30 p.m.) in conference action at Koval Chick Gymnasium. 
 
IUP is coming off a, 74-51 win over Gannon on Saturday, Dec. 6 in conference play.  Lindsay Stamp and Ashley Stoner led the Crimson Hawks with 18 points, respectively.  Stamp leads IUP with 22.1 points per game and has 50 rebounds on the year, thus far.
 
Last time vs. IUP:
Last season the Lady Eagles fell to IUP, 77-66 in January.  In their only meeting of the season, IUP downed LHU on the PSECU Court at Thomas Fieldhouse.  Emily Daugherty led LHU with 20 points and Marrysa Moyer added 18 points, but it was not enough as IUP sealed the win.
 
The Lady Eagles shot 84.2% from the free throw line and netted all 12 free throws in the second half.  LHU added 26 points in the paint and dished out 13 assists.

Lock Haven returns to action Saturday, December 20 when the Lady Eagles host Seton Hill on the PSECU Court at Thomas Fieldhouse.  Tip-off is set for 1 p.m.
