Haven Hoops Weekly Preview: Women’s Basketball set to host West Chester Wednesday

Lady Eagles host West Chester Wednesday, Dec.3 and travel to Mansfield Saturday, Dec. 6

The Lock Haven University women's basketball team will host West Chester in conference action on Wednesday, Dec. 3 (5:30 pm) at Thomas Fieldhouse on the PSECU Court and travel to Mansfield on Saturday, Dec. 6 (1 pm). 
 
Last week:
The Lady Eagles dropped two games against East Stroudsburg and Caldwell on Wednesday (November 19) and Saturday (November 22).
 
The Haven dropped the first game, 87-74 against East Stroudsburg before falling to Caldwell in a close, 76-71 thriller. 
 
Lock Haven vs. West Chester:

Lock Haven will host West Chester in conference action on Wednesday.  The game will mark the women's third game at home this season.
 
West Chester is currently ranked No. 2 in the Division II CoSida Atlantic-Region Poll.  West Chester returns all five starters from last season and clinched the Eastern Division's top Preseason Poll position with four first place nods. The Golden Rams are coming off a, 77-55 victory over Goldey-Beacom College.
 
Last time vs. WCU:
West Chester earned two wins over the Lady Eagles in the 2013-14 season as LHU traveled to WCU in January and fell, 91-65 on the road. 
 
In February, the Golden Rams traveled to Lock Haven and the Lady Eagles battled in an overtime thriller at Thomas Fieldhouse. WCU gained a four-point lead and sealed a, 63-59 win. 
 
Sami Lane led LHU with a season-high 18 points in 29 minutes of action and recorded three steals.  Lane dished out a team-high four assists.  J.J. Hilliard netted 10 points and added three assists.  Marrysa Moyer defensively led LHU with 13 rebounds. LHU recorded a strong defensive campaign with 60 rebounds, three blocks, and five steals. 
 
Lock Haven at Mansfield

The Lady Eagles will take the short trip to Mansfield Saturday, December 6 (1 pm) in conference action at Decker Gymnasium.
 
Mansfield is coming off a, 70-55 loss to Lake Erie on Saturday, November 29.  Katie Fitzpatrick leads MU, averaging 10.6 points (per game) and 4.6 rebounds.  Fitzpatrick has 18 assists on the year, thus far.
 
Last time vs. Mansfield:
Last season the Lady Eagles picked up two conference wins over The Mountaineers.  In their first meeting of the season, LHU downed MU, 56-43 at Thomas Fieldhouse on the PSECU Court.  Moyer recorded a double-double netting 17 points and grabbing 11 boards.
 
On the road just three weeks later, The Haven traveled to Mansfield and fought to earn a close, 66-63, victory.  Moyer once again powered the Lady Eagles charge with 16 points.  Rachael McDaniel and Emily Daugherty added 10 points, each.
 
Up Next:
Lock Haven returns to action Wednesday, December 16 when the Lady Eagles travel to Pitt-Johnstown.  Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
