Box Score LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women's basketball team (4-16, 2-8 PSAC East) fell on the road to Bloomsburg (17-3, 8-2 PSAC East) today, 69-57.
The Lady Eagles got off to a great start in the first period battling with Bloomsburg for the lead. Neither LHU nor Bloomsburg were able to gain much of an advantage until the final minute of the period.
Bloomsburg's Morgan Klunk netted two free throws to give the Huskies a 35-34 lead at the break.
LHU returned to the court in the second period with a jumper from
J.J. Hilliard (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) to give the Lady Eagles a, 36-35 lead in the first minute of play.
Bloomsburg responded quickly and proved to be too tough down the stretch.
Marrysa Moyer (Altoona, Pa./Mansfield Univ.) led LHU with 12 points and grabbed five rebounds in 26 minutes of action.
Emily Daugherty (Laughlintown, Pa./Ligonier Valley) added 11 points and recorded a 71.4 shooting percentage.
Hilliard recorded eight points on the day.
Shaleta Heyward (Upper Darby, Pa./Mansfield Univ.) netted six points and dished out a team-high three assists.
Hannah Gildea (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) and senior
Kelsey Ryan (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy) added five points, respectively.
Catherine Noack led the Huskies with a game-high 26 points and five rebounds.
Lock Haven returns to action on Wednesday, Feb. 5
st when the Lady Eagles host East Stroudsburg (6 p.m.).
